A few of my favorite things

Here is the pincushion that goes with the bookazine giveaway listed below!!

Okay, who is hungry? for projects to use the moda precuts that is. A beautiful book by Edie McGinnis from Kansas City Star is hitting the shelves. KCS has been so kind to let me share with you an excerpt of the book making it one of my favorites.YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! Another of my favorite things is the new Bags, Pillows and Pincushions issue from American Patchwork & Quilting. It is a BOOKAZINE. What is that? A book and a magazine morphed into one. Who doesn’t want that? Leave me a comment here about your favorite project on the
Moda Bake Shop and you will be entered in a drawing for this bookazine and a Big & Bold pincushion made by yours truly- me. Designed by Jill Abeloe Mead. I am also making the Wool & Whimsy pincushion by Roseann Meehan Kermes but I am keeping it for myself. (I will post a picture of the pincushion as soon as I get my camera fixed. Drawing this weekend.)

Another one of my favorite things is the new book I received in the mail. Wonderful eye candy for any quilter.
A Beautiful book by Gwen Marston. Photographed by my friend Gregory Case. Each of the quilts are beautifully photographed full size as well as a close up to show detail.

I am thinking the bella solids would be wonderful for any of these.

We have been honored to have Gregory take pictures of the moda booth during quilt market. Can you imagine trying to gather all these people to get in 1 picture? Well Gregory did with a little help from Elena and myself. (I am hiding in the very back)
A small part of the special people that bring moda to you!!

They are my very Favorite things (except my family)
Oops gotta go.. Bachelor is on.

    Cheers, Julia

That bookazine is great. I love the braided rug. It reminds me of a rug I had in my room growing up that was made by my great-grandma.

  3. So many great project in the bake shop, how could I choose just one?! Maybe the sweet candy quilt…or the baby bowties…or the belgian waffles…or the braided rug…

My favorite is the Sugar Cookies Table Runner – I love charm packs and it looks so difficult when it’s done but the directions are a piece of cake! If I don’t win your giveaway I’m going to hit Barnes and Noble to get my own copy!!

I am in love with the stacked coins quilt. So simple and elegant. All of the projects are beautiful, even the new necklace, but that one just popped off my computer screen at me. 🙂

I can’t decide between the Sweet Candy Quilt and the Sugar Cookies Table topper. Basically, I just love the Moda Bake Shop for the ideas, great pictures and instructions. Thanks~

I would love that book, as I am really into purses. My favorite back shop item is hard to choose, there are so many neat things. But, only one, huh? It is the Penny Pockets. They are so,easy, breezy, quiltingly youthful, for all ages. They just remind me of a simpler time, when things at least seemed easier.

I´m new to quilting/patchwork and sewing so I will say my favourite, at the moment, is the simple table runner (with ric rak at the ends).
    Or the pincushion 🙂
I would love to go into the draw.

Can I enter too? My favorite project is the Sultry jelly roll quilt. I AM going to make that one. And about 20 other things. Love the favorite things post idea. I might have to copy you…

And wow, what a beautiful book!

Now I know why it is called the Bake Shop–everything is yummy–it’s hard to choose a favorite. I do really have to make myself a Sugar Cookie table runner soon–maybe a Swanky one though.

OH!!! Just look at all the yummy precuts on the front of that Bookazine. I love them. I have been working on a table topper all day today using a Moda jelly roll. I noticed Camille said she is going to make the Sultry jelly roll quilt. I think that one is to die for myself and will have to order online because none of the shops in my area ordered the Sultry collection in. ***sigh*** Sometimes I wonder at their choices. They just don’t seem to cover the entire spectrum from bright and cheery to elegant and beautiful. They are all beautiful of course but some…well, some just speak to me. Ah well, thanks for the look at the projects. Hey! Why are you hiding in the back of the group photo??? LOL
