Giveaway

Giveaway?
Did that catch your eye?

I just recieved a copy of the new Holiday Issue of McCall’s quilting December 2009 issue. I was excited to see my quilt made the cover, AGAIN… folded and stacked with designers such as Chloe and Colleen from Toadusew, Sarah and Delores from Homestead Hearth and a dear friend, Gerri Robinson from Planted Seed Designs. And of course much more inside.
I do not know if you know of the MANQUILTER, but he is who quilted this quilt so I thought I would give him a shout out also. Isn’t that a great word, Manquilter? Of course you have to say it in a deep voice for the full effect.
Yes I said giveaway… keep reading.
The gals at McCall’s are so clever. They did a quilt option using the same pattern but did it in 30’s fabrics and used embroidered tea towels as the centers. Just that idea alone is worth running to the store to pick up your own copy. (pg 64)
Also there is an ad on page 49 from moda about something new available in stores late October. Clue- Fanfare Gift Wrap. Check it out.
Here’s the deal. Thanks for reading to the end.
The giveaway is for a magazine and my scraps from this collection. Scraps?! I have good scraps and after all it is a free giveaway. Rounneries will be in stores soon, so once you win my scraps you can order all kinds of yardage from your favorite shop.
I mean run to the stores this group is going to go fast!
Just make a nice comment and you will be entered. Drawing will be September 30th.

I can't wait to see the complete quilt in the McCalls mag – unfortunately, wait is what I'll have to do – it takes AGES for the magazines to make it here Downunder! Congratulations on making the cover again 🙂
    Kind regards – Dawn

Congratulations! It must be such a high to see your work on a cover like that and for good reason too! It IS lovely! I'm a scrap quilter at heart…seems I always put out my scrap bin to make stuff; trying to be frugal in a way I guess…I have folded fabs that barely see the light of day! Would love these coordinated lovelies…could probably make a much needed baby quilt from them…got another grandbaby due in the spring! Yipee! THat'll be number 9 in 6 years!

It must be very satisfying indeed, to see your work in publication. Especially after all those long hours spent designing, cutting and stitching. I'll have to wait a while for this issue as October has only just reached the newsstands here. I'm looking forwrad to it!

  8. Congratulations!!! Another beautiful quilt. Your other magazine cover quilt is on my 'must do' list and now I'll have to add this one too. As for the Manquilter, I love seeing men quilt. My very first quilt class last year had one gentleman in it. He picked all of his own colors which was so amazing to me because I was so new to all of this and I'm still shy about my ability to choose colors but I have to tell you that his quilt was without a doubt, the most beautiful quilt out of the 20 + quilts made in the class. He had been quilting for 5 years and was also working on his Masters in computer science and he had 2 children with a 3rd on the way. He said quilting was his stress relief. (I can relate to that!) I do wish more men would give it a try. I know they are out there, lurking, wanting to try it but worried about what people will say. Okay, I'm off to get my copy of the magazine, I really want to win one from you along with those wonderful scraps but it never hurts to have a back up copy … does it? Good luck everyone and thank you Lissa for a fun giveaway.

Well done for making the cover with this gorgeous quilt. I would love to win a copy of the magazine – here in Australia we probably wouldn't see it until after Christmas.

    Thanks Ellen

Congrats! That is so very exciting. I can't wait to get my hands on this line. Precuts and yardage, which I rarely buy both of a line, unless its something specific. This one is going to be used in many projects.
