more book reviews and more giveaways

Enjoy a few more of the newest books available on book shelves now.
Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts has got  to be one of the most talented, hardest working women in our industry. She is so creative and gracious at sharing her techniques
 and talent with us all.
Her quilts and projects always take my breath away. The combination of batiks and prints is amazing. I had a big lone star scrappy quilt started, then I saw her book and calendar. It stopped me dead in my tracks trying to decide if I should do borders like hers. Love it!!
I have one of her books for a Giveaway. Use Scrappy Fireworks in your comments if you want to be entered in the drawing for a book.
She also has a  calendar to match
Applique with Attitude is the latest creation from Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins.
Again, two very talented ladies. I love the title because neither of these two ladies have an attitude at all. What they do have is a creative way with fabrics, color and combination of the two.
I have an Applique with Attitude book for a giveaway. List the title in your comments in you want it/NEED it.
Look at their great you tube video they are sharing from their book.

Alissa Haight Carlton’s book is Modern Minimal. Alissa creates quilt with a great use of negative space that makes each piece a work of art. With great photography and room settings you can easily put any of these quilts on your bed or see them hanging on a wall in a gallery. Do you want this one? Leave a comment including Modern Minimal.
Free Motion Quilting with Angela Walters features step by step designs for machine quilting. Designs such as pulleys, Wonky Diamonds, Sun rays and Figure 8’s are just a few of the quilting designs that are showcased throwout.
I also have one of these books for a giveaway.
Use FREE MOTION in your comment.
Shape Workshop for Quilters published by Lark Crafts
I have finally gotten my hands on this book and I love it as much as I knew I would. The book is a collaboration from the talented crew of the e-magazine Fat Quarterly. Katy Jones, Brioni Greenberg, Tacha Bruecher and John Q. Adams  have brought together 60 different blocks designs along with several quilt layouts using these blocks.
Gwen Marston  has a wonderful way of encouraging traditional quilters to  feel liberated by braking some of the rules in traditional quilting methods. Enjoy the variety of quilts and quilt makers that she showcases in Liberated Medallion Quilts. These quilts could nave been made by our ancestors or possibly by the current modern movement of quilt makers.

I have 4 of the above books for giveaways. I will announce the winners on Thursday morning, so leave your comment before then. Also make sure I have an email address to let you know that you were a winner.

  6. I want to pull the bike away from the Scrappy Fireworks book so I can see the whole quilt. Awesome border. I love the way the four blocks coordinate on the Applique with Attitude book. Charming idea. A little less daunting than a Fireworks border. I want to eat up the Modern Minimal Quilt. Gorgeous. Yes, I'd like to hang it on a wall and stare at it all day. Please don't throw out the Free Motion quilting book, I need those ideas. If I have to pick a favorite, it would be the Modern Minimal, but they all look interesting.

I would love to receive a copy of APPLIQUE WITH ATTITUDE! I've been following the work of these two creative ladies for years, and I'm glad to see that they are still finding new inspiration! Such a fun use of color!
