All in A Row Again Blog hop

Giveaway Closed

Donna Cutting- you are the winner of an All in a Row E-book. I have sent you an email.

My name may be on the cover but it what’s inside

that makes this book so special.

Talented designers including Corey Yoder, Betsy Chutchian, Jen Kingwell, Jo Morton, Lisa Bongean,  Sherri McConnell, Karla Eisenach, Camille Roskelley, Kate Spain, Barb Groves, Mary Jacobsen, Brenda Riddle, Sandy Gervais, Sandy Klop, Kathy Schmitz, Deb Strain, Barb Adams, Alma Allen, Anne Sutton, Lynne Hagmeier, Stacy Iest Hsu, Laurie Simpson, Janet Clare, and Pat Sloan. Each of these designers have created a special row for you. Whether making a seasonal tablerunner or a fun whimsical quilt, there are so many options.

A few other people that need mentioning are Susan Ache, Maggi Honeyman, Alison Dale, Tamra Dumolt and Karen Burns.

Thank you for your sewing and quilting!

All the big awards shows have people that fill the empty seats when the stars are away getting ready for presentations, accepting awards or even taking a bathroom break. I wonder how you get the job to be a seat filler? I would sign up for that, sitting next to Keith Urban would be a dream come true.

Speaking of fillers, my contribution to this book is the filler rows for the Moda All Stars.

My 4″ filler rows to be used as borders, additional mini rows and spacers between the designers rows. The patterns are named Join Hands, Floral Frenzy, Stair Steps, Scallops, Criss Cross, Looking Glass, Twigs, Beans and Triangles. Shown above is a quilt made using combinations of all the fillers.

Along with Lisa Bongean, I am sharing my post on the last day of the blog hop which is also the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is an American holiday that gives us the opportunity to gather with friends and family, enjoy food and fellowship and to reflect on what all we are thankful for.

I do not know if Martingale choose for me to go last but I am glad they did. I have so much to be thankful for and all of the people listed above are part of the reason why. I am blessed to work with people that I also call my friends.

People that share their talent, inspire and teach others and work hard every single day is what this industry is made of. This also includes all the additional people that work behind the scenes to actually produce a book. (as shown above)

Together, the designers are donating royalties from the book’s sales to benefit  Give Kids the World Village . This charity helps children with life-threatening illnesses enjoy week long, cost-free vacations with their families.

I am giving away an E-book courtesy of Martingale publishing. To enter, leave a comment here and tell me if you were a seat filler at any awards show who would you like to sit next to. The winner will be announced Tuesday morning ( November 28th)

Just in case you missed any of the stops on the hop, I am sharing them here. You can also check out the Allinarowquiltalong Fb page for details.

Wow! Tough question! I think it would be an honor to sit next to any award winner at any quilt show, but especially if they told me all their secrets before winning. After winning, they’d be too busy…

This book looks like it will be as magical as the first row by row book! Can’t wait!!

  2. KJ says:

Amazing how many rows you designed. Those fillers make a great quilt on their own.
Off the top of my head, I would want to be at a rock music awards show, and sit next to Alice Cooper. His were the first albums I bought and, from what I have read he is a very interesting guy.

  3. Amber Zona says:

I would love to be a seat filler next to Dermott Mulroney. Or better yet, seat me with one of the Moda All Stars designers, we’d have more to talk about!

  4. debbie Pearcey says:

I would be so tongue tied and shy I would need someone like Garth Brooks because he has friends in low places and might not mind if I trip all over the place.

  5. Karen Bergt says:

I love Row Quilts. I can’t wait to get my copy of the All In a Row Again book.
As a seat filler I would like to sit by
    Toby Keith. LOL

  6. Jaxine Andersen says:

Thank you for the giveaway. If I could sit nest to anyone at an awards show it would be Betsy Chutchian. I am doing the Moda Blockheads and she seems like such a wonderful, caring person. Thanks so much.

  7. Hildy says:

Great book! It would be fun to be at the Oscars one day and I don’t mind who’s next to me as long as he’s hot and doesn’t ignore me;-)

  8. Janet T says:

I guess it would be Matt Damon and his wife. He seems level headed and down to earth. (But then, these days, who knows who they really are. After all, they are actors.)

  9. Suzie Walker says:

I would sit next to Jay Leno because being a comedian I would have a great time making wise cracks with him throughout the show.

  10. Liz Dyer says:

Love this book and I would love to win a copy. If I went to an awards show, I would like to sit beside someone fun like Toby Keith.

  11. Jackie Roisler says:

Oscars: truly nice Brooke Shields to one side, and Kathryn Heigel on other. Reese Witherspoon in row in front of me, Tom Hanks behind. Smiles!

  12. Susan Brewer says:

I would have loved to have met one of the actors or actresses from the past, Lauren Bacall, Grace Kelly, Debbie Reynolds. I would warm a seat next to one of these classy ladies!

  13. Allison Evrard says:

This is going to sound geeky but I’d like to sit next to Neil Degrasse Tyson. I’m a retired science teacher and an astronomy nut so…who better to sit next to?

  14. Sue Cahill says:

It would be Tom Hanks for me, he and I were born on the same day but boy our lives are different. I have always enjoyed his work and he seems like he would be friendly and fun to talk to.

  15. Cathy B. says:

Tough question! But you could never go wrong with “The Boss” – Bruce Springsteen!

By the way, those filler rows are brilliant – great contribution to a great cause!

  16. Camille says:

I would love sitting next to Clark Gable, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda or Cary Grant if that were possible. I love watching their movies. What a great book of rows! I missed the first book and am happy to know about this one.

  17. Donna Cutting says:

Wonderful book filled with fabulous quilt rows.
Meryl Streep comes to mind. Thanks so much.

  18. Amy L says:

This is a fun book, and the filler rows are sooo important. They give your eye a place to rest, and after cooking yesterday, that’s a good thing to do. And i would like to sit next to Amy Poehler or Tina Fey at an awards show.

  19. usairdoll says:

Love your fillers! Have enjoyed seeing all the wonderful rows and let’s hope Santa thinks I’ve been a good girl this year, hehe. I would love to sit next to Jimmy Stewart at an awards show.

  20. Christi says:

I would have loved to sit next to Julia Childs or Robin Williams. In the living world I guess Denzel Washington strikes me as a class act.

  21. Nancy C says:

Gosh, that is a hard one for me. I guess the cast of Supernatural. Those guys know how to laugh and have fun. Love the book 🙂

  22. Janet Ward says:

I would’ve tbeilled to be able to sit by anyone that was an awards winner, Pat Sloan, And many more, but if all the people I think of the most, is Dolly Parton, because she is from our home area, of The Great Smoky Mountains, I have watched her movies, and shows even before she was totally famous on the Caz Walker Show at 6:00 am before getting ready for school! Since I was in grade school… since I Quilt, my favorite song is Hera that is about her “Coat of Many Colors” that her Momma made. Just like Joseph in the Bible… and like we quilters love our scrap quilts! But also because of the wonderful heart Dolly has for this area, & how much she gives back… to children 5 years old & younger from TN and Western NC, she gives free books to them monthly… to help them learn and build the live to read… and her giving list goes on & on… Love her to pieces!
But anyone else would also be an honor as well!

  23. Janet Ward says:

Thank you ModaLissa. Aka Izzy for your filler rows.. they are wonderful! Thank you for this chance again to possible win as-copy of the book. Hugs
