GIVEAWAY CLOSED !!
I am so very excited to announce my new book coming February 2021, Scrap School. 9 designers have joined me by sharing one of their scrap quilts along with tips on color, fabric placement and more. Each quilt also has a color option to inspire how you can use your scraps or fabric collections to personalize the quilts for your style.
Lisa Bongean, Gudrun Erla, Susan Ache, Amanda Jean Nyberg, Amy Smart, Sherri McConnell, Sarah Huechteman, Kim Diehl and Connie & Mary of Country Threads have joined me as “PROFESSORS” at Scrap School.
I have included link to the professors instagram accounts above, so be sure and follow each of them for more information as we get closer to the book launch. The book is available for preorder from your favorite quilt store or book dealer now, so treat yourself.
I love putting together color bars to play with color and pattern before starting a quilt. Join me as I share more of this process.
February seems like a very long time from now, so to wet your appetite for scrap books, I am going to have a few giveaways and events throughout the rest of the year. I am starting off with a copy of Sisterhood of Scraps.
To win a copy of Sisterhood of Scraps and some other goodies thrown in, please leave a comment and tell me your 2 favorite colors to use in a quilt. I am also giving away a Sisterhood of Scraps on my instagram so you have 2 chances to win.
Enjoy and thank you so much for following along,
-Modalissa
More than any colour, I love working with scraps! Hard to pick favourites, but I’m drawn to blues and pinks.
Blue and white, but I’ve never made a scrappy one. I definitely have the scraps to do it, though!
I love blue and white quilts and want to do some red and white quilts too!
Love using shades of pinks or yellows in quilts as bright spots. They always seem to make me smile when I see them scattered about. Looking forward to the new book, scrap quilts are the best!
Red and white.
I would have to have purple in my scrap quilt. The more the better.
Aqua and pink are my favorites..
I’d have to say I love blues and creams/tans in my quilts. Also love lots of colors for my scrap quilts.
What colors I want to use frequently changes. I really want to make a black and white quilt sometime. I’m thinking of maybe using the Yankee Doodle quilt pattern to make a thin blue line flag for a family member…
Thanks for the chance to win!
Red and gray are favorites!
I usually use a ridiculous number of fabrics in scrap quilts. Are there any other kind? But I always put black sprinkled in for depth.
I love using aqua and coral together in a quilt, always a beautiful combo.
I love blue – especially navy which I think looks great with just about every other color I might want to use. I also have a soft spot for pink.
Right now the beautiful fall colors… love them!
I love blue and white.
Right now I am making an scrappy blue and white quilt but more correctly I like colors seasonally and I dress my beds accordingly.. In the spring I like light pinks and sherbets, in the summer RW and B, in the fall orange and browns, Christmas Red and green and winter is whatever I have on the bed 🙂
Scrappy White and Orange
My very favorite are blue and white quilts!
I love aqua and red- especially when mixed with scrappy low volume prints.
Congrats on the new book! The cover quilts are beautiful.
My favorite colors to use are green and blue. They remind of the blue waters of the Great Lakes and the awakening of the world in spring after a long, dark winter.
I can’t wait to make a quilt in greens and creams
My favorites are blue and white ❤️
Blue and white….almost always.
I’m partial to green and creams, but I tend to stray here and there based on who I’m giving to (as in grandkids!). Your ‘scrap’ books are so inspiring and this new one looks like another winner! Thanks for the chance.
It’s so difficult to choose what colors I love to use in a quilt. I love purple so purple and green together is a favorite color combination. But I also love blue and white (or cream) together.
Your new book looks fantastic! Lots of color inspiration.
Blue and purple are my favorites.
I’m loving aqua and raspberry right now; all shades of both. These scrap books all look good to me!
Most of the quilts I’ve done are scrappy, so it’s hard to say by looking at them. Blue is my favorite color though, and I’ve done some patriotic projects, so I’ll go with Red as my second choice.
I like Raspberry and other deep pink tones as well as blues and turquoises. Your new book looks very appealing!
I keep gravitating towards tomato and salmon.
Rebecka,
Congrats! You are one of the winners of a Sisterhood of Scraps book. Please send me your mailing address.
Thanks, Lissa
Thank you Lissa!!!
I have been wanting to make a scrappy quilt with turquoise and lime.
I have always liked using greens and purples together in quilts. My latest purchase, however, was reds and creams.
I love pink and aqua together for quilts!
Your questions asks for my two favorite colors in a quilt. What a tough question! Everything and more of everything. While I love two color quilts, blues and whites or pinks and browns, my heart swoons over scrappy quilts.
Creams and red
My current favorite is coral and green, with lots of shades of each to make it scrappy. Your new book looms very interesting, as I LOVE scrappy quilts.
My favorite colors to use in a quilt are navy blue and white. Congratulations on the new book! I’ve already pre-ordered mine. Maybe it will be ready for my birthday Feb 9th much love my friend!
Lately I’ve been using greens and ocre in my quilts, must be the Autumn influence!!
I love blue and coral with green thrown in! Love your scrap books!
I’m always drawn to red with cream, or blue, or pinks.
I LOVE scrappy quilts and 2 color quilts❤️. I would say that I use blues and reds the most
Coral with pink shades makes me melt.
I am drawn to red with light blue.
I am learning to branch out some with colors, but my favorites are always blue and cream, or blue and browns/tans. Looking forward to the new book!
I am drawn to blues and greens. I love making scrap quilts with every color under the sun. Makes every block exciting and new not repetitious. Love your quilts.
Blues are usually my favorite color. A bit of Red usually finds its way into my quilts.
Coral and blue.
My favorites right now are apricot, aqua, and navy!
Blue and green are in a lot of my quilts, but the blues dominate my scrap bin. Looking forward to this book!
