Oh Scrap- it’s Pat Sloan

Today’s stop on the Oh Scrap blog hop is the insatiable Pat Sloan.

Pat is the life of any quilt gathering and her husband Gregg is also up for the party. They drive across the country teaching classes, lectures and meeting quilters.

What great smiles!!

Pat has got to be the busiest person in “quilt show business”.

With a background in the tech industry, it is no surprise that she manages one of the largest Quilting Facebook groups, Quilt Along with Pat Sloan

Pat is often the ring leader of the Aurifil Designer of the Month Sew along.  Picture shown above is an older pic, so click here to find out the details for 2018.

Are you tired yet? I am getting tired just talking about all the projects Pat is involved in… but wait there is more.

I have just recently joined the Podcast fan club listening to a variety of topics ranging from social media tips, Read to Lead, Ted Radio Hour, NPR news, Dave Ramsey, Tony Robbins, GaryVee and PAT SLOAN. Yes she has a weekly podcast!

Seriously is there anything this gal can’t do?

Pat along with Jane Davidson created the Splendid Sampler, a daily block download with designers all over the world participating. The blocks were eventually published into a top selling book. See details on splendid sampler book here.

One of my quilts in Oh Scrap actually started from my block, Starting Point from the Splendid Sampler Series. Pat is talking about this on her blog today, so go check it out.

To think that a 6″ block project grew and grew for Pat and Jane but also turned into a big quilt for me also.

Pat has been a long time friend and I am honored that she is helping me spread the word about Oh Scrap!

Don’t forget to leave a comment on this post  for a chance for your own copy of Oh Scrap.  Visit Pat today and Jane will be posting later in the hop.

Thanks for doing me to the group! Scrap quilts are rapidly becoming my favorites as I try to be more “mindful” and use what I have in my stash. I also realized that I tend to buy similar themes in fabric and many tend to already blend. I am doing 2 online BOM and have committed to doing them totally from my stash. Can’t wait to see the finished product

That Pat Sloan really is a busy little beaver. How did she find a time for it all. I’m sure should be a fun friend to have. Oh scrap, really looks like an interesting book. You must be really happy and proud to have made it. Well you aren’t to be anyhow. Congrats good for you.

Scrap quilts are my favorite. We can use such a wide variety of 100% cottons; we are fortunate to have so many choices in fabrics when we making quilts. And quilters demand quality intheir choices of fabrics. I’m looking forward to creating more quilts with scraps…. waking up every morning to get started on my most recent project so I can start the next quilt….. Thanks for sharing your passion for quilting with scraps.

I love making my quilts scrappy and there is definitely a recipe for making them all get along. I think you know the recipe!

I love making scrap quilts that is what the majority of my quilts are, they are so colorful. It would be awesome to get to win one of the books.

I love Pat and Gregg. I often wonder where they get all that energy from. Love Pats “welcome to my life of quilting and can I answer any questions for you” feeling you get in every one of her postings. Ani her fabulous inspirational quilter.
