Sweet Celebrations blog hop

Welcome Welcome. I am honored to be one of the stops on the tour along with such talented people. Sweet Celebrations features projects from 21 designers or as we call them chefs.
Chef is code word so that our families think we are spending more time in the kitchen than in the sewing room.
Why I am on the hop? Because I had the honor of compiling this project. However I did not do it alone. I had lots of help from Angela Yosten and Jenny Garland who helped hatch the entire project.
I also wanted to give a shout out to Chelair Etter who took care of making sure each chef had the ingredients necessary to complete their project. Thanks also to the great crew at Stash Books for putting together such a great book that can be used throughout the year.
The book was started a year and a half ago so to see the actual book and the great projects inside is such a great surprise to see how it all came together.

Throughout the hop you will see a few of the projects in the book so I am not going to duplicate those images. However I am going to show you the pages titled, Celebrate the Designers. That is really what this blog hop is all about, celebrating the designers and all the work they put into this project. I am lucky enough to have my hands on an early copy of the book. I also have many pages flagged for the projects that I want to make!

If you are a storeowner, you can meet some of the chefs at market. They will be there doing a book signing in the United Notions booth.

If you are coming to Quilt Festival in Houston, there will be a Moda Bake Shop booth, showcasing some of the projects from the book as well as all the projects online at the bakeshop.

Leave a comment telling me what your favorite part of quilting is and I will draw a winner for this little bag of treats that includes 8 different 2 1/2″ charm packs called Moda Candy.

My recipe is from a friend of mine, Debbie Outlaw. The recipe has been around for so long no one knew what it’s original name was…………so I took the liberty to rename it, Outlaw’s Pumpkin Muffins.

here is a link to the recipe.

Hop on over to Little Miss Shabby to see what she is saying today about Sweet Celebrations.

My favorite part of quilting that's easy I LOVE everything about quilting EXCEPT trimming threads! I admit, I do like selecting fabrics best of all! 🙂

Gosh, it's hard to pick a favorite part, but I'll say piecing the blocks. This looks like a great book and I'm enjoying the blog hop. Thanks for the chance to win some treats!

I love picking the fabrics and pattern that suit the recipient. In that way I can make sure that my "girly" friends and my more "modern" pals each get something that they will love!

my favorite part of quilting is piecing it together. I love watching how all the small pieces fit together make such a beautiful design! Muffins look good!

My favorite part of the quilting is the actual quiltting itself, that too I love free-motion quilt. I could just do that for all day :-).

    Love these candies from Moda.

Difficult to say what I like most, I think it's because you do so many different things (choosing fabric, a pattern, cutting, sewing, quilting) that I like quilting. I like everything! Okay, except sandwiching.

  7. Cindi says:

My favorite part of quilting is the "done" part. I like playing with the fabric, cutting & piecing, everything but the sandwich. But when you put the last stitch in the binding, pull it out of the dryer, smooth it out so you can see the whole thing DONE. What a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.

My favorite part of quilting is shopping for the fabric! I'm a newer quilter and haven't had the opportunity to buy much beyond what I need for the current project. I also love the part where I get to gift the quilt to someone!

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I new to quilting and don't have a completed quilt yet, but right now my favorite part is dreaming of all of the quilts I want to make! Thanks for sharing your recipe and for the giveaway!

I like looking for just the right fabrics for a project & then enjoy the piecing, too. I just made Speck by Miss Rosie & am anxious to get some more candy charms so I can make another one.

I love when the quilt starts coming together and then… when it's even better than you imagined it would be! 🙂 The new little candy pre-cuts are so cute!

My favorite part of quilting is choosing which fabrics will enjoy getting together to grace my new project. I would like to design them someday as I really love changing the colors around and I see the difference each color makes. The new project is always a huge draw. I'm excited to see the new Moda Candy packs, too.

Great compilation of projects. Thank you for all the work putting it together! And those muffins look yum! My favourite part is definitely quilting the top – I have far too many completed quilt tops waiting to be finished!

My favorite part of quilting has to be selecting the fabric for a quilt idea. I love to be in a quilt shop–feeling the fabric, mixing colors, talking with others about choices–just to be "transported" from the everyday.

Thanks for organizing the blog hop. I look forward to adding Sweet Celebrations to my library.

My favorite part of quilting is picking out the fabric.. I am totally obsessed with fabric and I can just imaging something beyond cute coming from whatever I pick out.

I enjoy the quilting the best. I mostly hand quilt.
And I enjoy picking the fabric. (I could never do your job, Lissa, too many beautiful choices!)

Hi Lissa. I would love the chance to win the Sweet Celebrations book along with some of the hard to find Moda Candy. I hope the Moda Candy becomes easier to find around here. I'd love one of everything! Thanks for the great blog tour too! Hugs!

My favorite part of quilting is when it putting the top together and seeing it come together and seeing what it is going to look like, piece by piece. The excitement builds:)

    Thank you

I love the whole process, from choosing a pattern, then fabric, then piecing, and finally quilting. It is really an accomplishment to make a quilt from start to finish.
