Welcome Welcome. I am honored to be one of the stops on the tour along with such talented people. Sweet Celebrations features projects from 21 designers or as we call them chefs.
Chef is code word so that our families think we are spending more time in the kitchen than in the sewing room.
Why I am on the hop? Because I had the honor of compiling this project. However I did not do it alone. I had lots of help from Angela Yosten and Jenny Garland who helped hatch the entire project.
I also wanted to give a shout out to Chelair Etter who took care of making sure each chef had the ingredients necessary to complete their project. Thanks also to the great crew at Stash Books for putting together such a great book that can be used throughout the year.
The book was started a year and a half ago so to see the actual book and the great projects inside is such a great surprise to see how it all came together.
Throughout the hop you will see a few of the projects in the book so I am not going to duplicate those images. However I am going to show you the pages titled, Celebrate the Designers. That is really what this blog hop is all about, celebrating the designers and all the work they put into this project. I am lucky enough to have my hands on an early copy of the book. I also have many pages flagged for the projects that I want to make!
If you are a storeowner, you can meet some of the chefs at market. They will be there doing a book signing in the United Notions booth.
If you are coming to Quilt Festival in Houston, there will be a Moda Bake Shop booth, showcasing some of the projects from the book as well as all the projects online at the bakeshop.
Leave a comment telling me what your favorite part of quilting is and I will draw a winner for this little bag of treats that includes 8 different 2 1/2″ charm packs called Moda Candy.
My recipe is from a friend of mine, Debbie Outlaw. The recipe has been around for so long no one knew what it’s original name was…………so I took the liberty to rename it, Outlaw’s Pumpkin Muffins.
here is a link to the recipe.
Hop on over to Little Miss Shabby to see what she is saying today about Sweet Celebrations.
My favorite part of quilting is seeing the expression on the face of the person receiving the quilt as a gift. That makes it all worth it to me. Thank you for the chance to win!
I enjoy the piecing and appliqué… Thanks for the chance to win…
My favorite part is the piecing…I love to see it coming together !
My favorite part of quilting is piecing on my hand crank sewing machine. Love that machine! 2nd would be gathering new ideas and shopping for fabrics. Can never have too many fabrics!
I love choosing just the right fabrics and pattern! awolk at rogers dot com
Piecing, sewing, and quilting. My least favorite parts….cutting, ripping out seams, and binding.
I enjoy designing & playing with quilt patterns in EQ7; then choosing the fabrics & sewing the blocks together. Thanks for the recipe & the chance to win.
my favorite part of quilting is the pressing and cutting … love making the parts and pieces! i often pull fabric, press and cut then kit the pieces and stash it for another time. like your recipe, never though of combining pumpkin and chocolate and like the idea.
My favorite parts of quilting are the planning of the quilt and sewing on the binding by hand!
My very favorite part of quilting is laying out my fabrics and watching how the design, textures and colors play on each other. Then cutting the fabric to keep all those elements flowing. I love the fabrics part so much sometimes its hard to cut a favorite piece up.
I'm new to quilting so I have to say choosing fabric and finding out that the block you made was done right.
I enjoy seeing the blocks emerge as I piece them. I also like laying out the blocks as well.
Hmmm, I'm not sure I can pick a favorite part – – I LOVE it all!! Choosing the fabric, cutting, laying out blocks, piecing, sewing, and hand quilting – – but I suppose I would have to say FINISHING a project is my favorite part! Having a completed project to enjoy is so GREAT. Thanks for doing this….fingers crossed 🙂
I enjoy piecing the quilt top together. I love to watch a vision begin to take shape. Thanks for the giveaway. This looks like a great book that I need to add to my library.
i love to make blocks that's my favorite part
My favorite thing is the thrill of starting a new project…picking fabrics, notions, gadgets, etc! Too bad I am not so good at finishing things.
My favorite part of quilting is planning it, and then seeing it done.
My favourite part is giving the quilt away, because that means I have to start another one
My favorite part is piecing. Especially the last seam in each block–it just seems like magic when that last seam is done, and the block is all pressed and square.
My favorite part of quilting is when the top is finished and you can see how it has come together.
My favorite part is the piecing. I love being precise and seeing the blocks take shape.
I enjoy the piecing and seeing the quilt come together.
Choosing the fabric…without a doubt…thanks for being so generous.
My favorite part of quilting would
have to be picking out the fabrics
out, they usually end up being Moda
fabrics, somehow they always manage
to draw my eye and make me want to
quilt with them, they are my favorites. Thanks for the chance to
win.
My favorite part is piecing..least favorite binding!
My favorite part is piecing and seeing the quilt emerge.
When things are going well, I love all of it…except basting!
combining quilting and piecing always makes for a pretty quilt. Thanks from Judy C
I think my favorite part might be giving the quilt away at the end! Thanks for the chance!
I think my favorite part of quilting is when the quilt top is complete and I have a nice sense of accomplishment. I also love the part of choosing and buying fabric.
My favorite part of making a quilt is sewing all theparts together and seeing the beautiful quilt appear-success!
Picking fabric is my favorite part!
My favourite part is the binding. I'm done! Thanks
i love all of it – choosing fabrics, piecing the top, seeing how it changes in looks as it's quilted and definitely pulling it out of the dryer to use! :]
My favourite part of quilting is picking out the fabrics. I frequently find myself helping others in the quilt shop by offering suggestions for fabric. And, no, I don't work there. LOL
I'm fairly new to quilting so all parts of creating a quilt are a thrill to me. Having help picking out fabric (since I'm new to this) and then WOW watching it all come together and being so proud. Know my Grandmother would be proud, she was my quilter.
I'm new to quilting, but my favourite part is piecing. Piece after piece and you can see something nice coming up, it is a bit like embroidery (not the cross stitch), when every few minutes a little flower pops up.
My favorite part is piecing. It's instant gratification. 🙂
I love choosing the fabrics and picturing how they will look in a project.
