Welcome Welcome. I am honored to be one of the stops on the tour along with such talented people. Sweet Celebrations features projects from 21 designers or as we call them chefs.
Chef is code word so that our families think we are spending more time in the kitchen than in the sewing room.
Why I am on the hop? Because I had the honor of compiling this project. However I did not do it alone. I had lots of help from Angela Yosten and Jenny Garland who helped hatch the entire project.
I also wanted to give a shout out to Chelair Etter who took care of making sure each chef had the ingredients necessary to complete their project. Thanks also to the great crew at Stash Books for putting together such a great book that can be used throughout the year.
The book was started a year and a half ago so to see the actual book and the great projects inside is such a great surprise to see how it all came together.
Throughout the hop you will see a few of the projects in the book so I am not going to duplicate those images. However I am going to show you the pages titled, Celebrate the Designers. That is really what this blog hop is all about, celebrating the designers and all the work they put into this project. I am lucky enough to have my hands on an early copy of the book. I also have many pages flagged for the projects that I want to make!
If you are a storeowner, you can meet some of the chefs at market. They will be there doing a book signing in the United Notions booth.
If you are coming to Quilt Festival in Houston, there will be a Moda Bake Shop booth, showcasing some of the projects from the book as well as all the projects online at the bakeshop.
Leave a comment telling me what your favorite part of quilting is and I will draw a winner for this little bag of treats that includes 8 different 2 1/2″ charm packs called Moda Candy.
My recipe is from a friend of mine, Debbie Outlaw. The recipe has been around for so long no one knew what it’s original name was…………so I took the liberty to rename it, Outlaw’s Pumpkin Muffins.
here is a link to the recipe.
Hop on over to Little Miss Shabby to see what she is saying today about Sweet Celebrations.
My favorite part about quilting is looking at the fabulous options for fabric and then buying what I think will fit my project perfectly!!
I really like doing the binding, that means that the quilt is so close to being done. Thanks for the chance to win.
Must be sewing the binding by hand to the back of the quilt… the final step! Terrific giveaway! the book looks so interesting.
My favorite part of quilting is choosing the fabrics and Moda fabs are always at the top of the list. I enjoy hand stitching the binding too. It's like therapy with a big reward.
My favorite part if sharing it with my friends…from beginning to the end. Friends help with fabric selection, then we consult about details, and finally we encourage. It's the fellowship and community that makes the entire process so joyful!
The best part for me is picking out the fabrics, I love get a theme fabric then going from there.
My favourite part is picking out the fabric, I love pre-cuts! I love the combination, themed designs and patterns, imagine all the possible combinations I can put together!
I enjoy the cutting and piecing-watching the quilt grow!
My favorite part of quilting is going to the fabric store, touching each fabric, and finally deciding which ones I will use for the pattern! Thank you for the fun give away!
I find peace when I quilt and also such satisfaction when I am done with a project. Thanks for the great book review, recipe, and giveaway.
My favorite part of quilting is picking the fabric and then watching it come together in a quilt top.
I love the fabrics-choosing, cutting and planning.
Apart from finishing and handing over a quilt, my favourite part is the planning and choosing and starting of a new quilt.
So, NOT the part where I have to make several dozen flying geese, use a stitch-ripper for an hour or discover that i have run out of a fabric because I made an error cutting.
It is anticipation and the end, for me, Isuppose.
Hey there. I enjoy sewing the top together and playing with different layouts. and while you sew you see the thing come to life!
I love running my fingers over the completed quilting to feel the texture that I have created.
I love seeing the piecing come together, especially when I working with scrap quilts, it's always a surprise! But I also love the final quilting of the layers with hand quilting, it's the best part for me.
My fave part of quilting is when I'm giving it to someone who is going to love it.
The binding, that neans i'm almost done!
Wow, that is hard. I like the planning, the piecing and the hand quilting and of course shopping for fabric. How do I choose a favorite part? I believe I truly enjoy each and every part of the process. Maybe the part I least enjoy is putting the quilt on the frame to hand quilt.
I make mostly baby quilts for friends and my favorite part of quilting is seeing their face when they see their face. I also love getting pictures of the baby using their new quilt.
As I'm woefully short of completed projects, I guess my favourite part of quilting is planning and dreaming about what I'm going to do and choosing yummy fabrics!
Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
my fav part of quilting is cutting and i do it best listening to the food channel.
My favorite part is designing the quilts
I enjoy picking out the fabric. So many choices!
Yumm, those muffins look so good!
The part I like best of quilting is seeing the rows come together so I can see the overall effect of the blocks.

I'm a fabric addict so I love to play with designing my elements–picking the fabric and pattern and figuring out how I want to piece it all together!
I love buying the fabric for whichever project I am going to work on.
I think my favorite part (do I pick just one??) would be the piecing. Love each and every part of making a quilt, though. thanks for the chance to win!
I enjoy the planning, picking out fabric and then the binding.. I do enjoy piecing and quilting the quilts as well, but sometimes it seems to take a long time from start to finish and I get a bit bored with the same piece. Thanks for the opportunity on the draw.

Up to last week my favorite part was choosing the different fabrics and combining them as well as deciding which pattern to sew, but I've been binding my first big quilt and must say it is kinda addictive and in the end it gives you the satisfaction of having a finished project!
My favorite part of the process is designing the pattern. My very favorite part is seeing the finished product. soparkaveataoldotcom
My favorite part of quilting is longarm quilting! Love the dance with my machine, enhancing the beauty of the quilt top, especially when the quilt talks to me and tells me what it wants on it!
Choosing the fabrics is my favorite part, both the dreaming up the combinations and then pulling the actual fabric and arranging it around me.
Definitely choosing and arranging fabrics.
My favorite part of quilting is seeing the persons face when you present them with something you've made.
I know it's funny but I like the hand sewing of the binding as my favorite part of quilting. Of course, when all the corners match is a big thrill, the binding being done means the quilting is done! Thanks for the give away – I love the mini charm packs!
I enjoy choosing the fabric most!
I would have to say planning and picking out the fabric…and then the finished product…altho each step is so gratifying. Lots of great ideas on your blog!
Your cookies look yummy! I love the piecing best … choosing the fabrics and seeing them come together into something MORE is an AMAZING experience 🙂
My favorite part is just looking at all the beautiful fabric designs.
My favorite part of quiltmaking is the actual quilting, because I like the tactile experience. Thanks for the pumpkin muffin recipe!
I enjoy the piecing the best. My sister does my long-arming and I do some table toppers on my home machine. Thanks for the giveaway — love, love, love those new candies!
My favorite part of quilting is cuting and making the blocks. thanks for the giveaway.
My favorite part of quilting is sewing on the binding.
My favorite part of quilting is putting on the binding because I know the finish line is near 🙂
I have two favorite parts …starting and finishing!
Petting and picking out fabric is my favorite part.
My favorite part is cuddling with the finished quilt.
I haven't been quilting for long, but so far my favorite part is definitely piecing!
I have two favorite parts – picking the fabrics, and finishing the quilt. Love when the quilt is finished and I can see that all of my hard work was worth it! :)u
