Happy Valentine’s Day/Weekend/Sewcialites Friday
Thank you for joining me on my day for SEWCIALITES.
I am making my version using Moda’s Bella Solids and I thought pink was the perfect color for the valentines week.
I have started putting my blocks together. This will be one quarter of the quilt. Once it is complete it will be a big sawtooth star.
I had mentioned in one of of my PROGRESS REPORTS posts that I knew how I wanted to quilt this one. The crew at Moda recently made a quilt for someone retiring and I wanted that project quilted the same way I was planning on doing my Sewcialites quilt. Machine quilted in vertical lines in a small range of colors and some big stitch quilting added throughout is the plan. The picture above was hand quilted by Laurie Simpson, so I will have to consult her when I am ready to dive in to my quilt.
For all the information, patterns and how to’s visit Jolly Jabber- Sewcialites.
and be sure to follow all of the Sewcialites each week to see what they are up to.

I love your block and although I’m a bit behind I plan to play catch up this weekend.
Nice! That’s a really pretty shade of pink – kinda “carnation-y”. My lqs just got your Scrap School book in, and although I have a self-imposed embargo on any more fabric purchases, books are fair game lol!!!
So pretty Lissa! (And I ❤️ Your shirt too!) keep up the beautiful work. – Jessie
Love the block and that dusty pink
I love this block and the Bella pink! I’m also doing my quilt in solids and plan to hand quilt in a similar way. Great minds think alike!
Really enjoying watching everyone’s creativity each Friday. Can’t wait to see it with the straight line quilting.
Love making scrap quilts so I know I would love this book! Thanks
Oh I need ideas for my scraps!
Can’t wait to get my hands on this!
Scrappy quilts will always have my heart❣️
This book is on my “must have” list, but I’m using it as a reward for finishing projects. It’s not cheating if I win it, right? 🙂
Terri,
Such good discipline makes you the winner of Scrap School. Please send me your shipping information.

I’ve never made a quilt from solids, the look is growing on me! Thanks for the chance to win your recent book.
There are several quilts in your new book that I would love to make! I found your blog because I follow Sherri at A Quilting Life, and I am doing the sewcialites quilt-along but I am behind. I like your block!
I love your scrap quilt book that included the Tone It Down Quilt! I made it and love it. Now I’m using similar fabrics for this Sewciable quilt. Such Fun! This new scrap quilt book looks like it has some quilts I want to tackle immediately !

Beautiful block! I love the solids and that it is going to grow up to be a big sawtooth! And I always love scrap buster quilts!
I am just learning how to quilt so my library of books on this craft needs to grow! When we are allowed to shop in person again, I will need to check my local quilt shop to see if they have it!
Perfect for Valentines week, just as you said! Thanks for the chance to win and for showing us your lovely block!
Congrats on another book! Looks like some great quilts! Loving the aqua one on the left! I certainly have enough scraps!

Your quilting uses sounds perfect! Can’t wait to se it. Thanks for a chance to win your new book too.
I love all of the Moda Bella Pinks and have many of them in my stash! I’m thinking a whole quilt with this block and all my pinks and maybe a few corals!! So pretty!
I love the quilt in solids! Thanks for the idea.
This block is tempting me to finally start on Sewcialites! I’ve saved all the block directions and I like the way you’re using solids rather than prints.
Am loving this block in Moda pink!! I would love a scrapbook, I never know what to do with all of my scraps. I think it would be lovely to used in a creative way to make a lap quilt or something for someone, or a spur of the moment Quilt without much planning!!
I would love to win this book!
I love scraps and you have the best ideas. I will make your block for sewcialites this weekend. It’s interesting.
Such a great book full of awesome ideas. Would love to add it to my collection. Your block is great inspiration.
I can’t wait to see all the scrappy quilts in this book. I just know I’ll be adding a whole bunch of them to my to-do list.
Can’t wait to see your quilt finished! I still need to make a quilt from sisterhood of scraps. Your books are some of my favorites.
Your block is really pretty in pink! The solids are super fun for the whole quilt! Its something I have never tried before! Seems like I always go for prints or a mix of prints with a few solids mixed in! Lol thanks for a chance to win your great new book!
I LOVE a Good SCRAP Quilt!!❤️
Lovely block! I especially like that pink as we approach Valentines Day. Thanks for the opportunity to try to win a copy of the book. My mother, who taught me to sew and quilt, and her mother, whom I watched sew and quilt by hand, inspired my love of scrap quilts. They were experts at using what they had with beautiful results. I treasure their quilts that I am blessed to have. Happy Valentines Day! ❤️
I’ve only finished blocks 1-6 of the Sewcialites, but I have more cut and will catch up in the next week or so. Thanks to you and all the designers in this quilt along, and thanks for the opportunity to win your book. Wish me luck!
I have all my scraps sorted by color, unless it’s by a favorite designer – Bonnie and Camille, and Ruby Star Society – have their own dedicated bag. Your book would be a wonderful way to find a use for my growing scrap collection. Thanks for the chance to win!
You have already started putting your sewcialites blocks together?! You must already know what color each up coming block is going to be. I can’t wait to start putting mine together. I am really enjoying this QAL.
Love scrappy and your books are always winners!
Haven’t started yet: RV quilting right now and my stash is at home…but the solids I’ve got will be ready when I get back. Would really like to win your new book. Enjoy all you do for us. Thanks!
