BlockHeads- Magic Block and triangle papers giveaway

BLOCKHEAD WEDNESDAY

Today is a day of Magic. If you have even seen any of Lisa Bongean’s work then you will understand. Lisa creates magic with everything she touches.
She makes it all look so easy.
But the best thing about the process is that Lisa is a fantastic teacher sharing her tips on accurate piecing no matter how big or small.

My block is 8″ and I am happy with how it turned out but Lisa’s is 4″. You can see her block and get the pattern here.

Visit each of the designers listed below for their take on the MAGIC  block:

Be sure to check out the Block Heads Facebook Group and look for Block Heads 3 on Instagram – #modablockheads and #modablockheads3.

I haven’t tried them, as they are yet another thing I would have to bring in from overseas, unfortunately. I’m waiting for our dollar to improve before I take up online shopping again, until then, it’s my LQS for supplies. That’s probably a good thing.

  2. Sue Reed says:

I really need these because I love triangles in quilts and it would be awesome to have an assortment of different size triangle papers! Thanks for all the great patterns and books!

  3. Cbg says:

I love half square triangles and I have never tried triangle papers before. I generally make them oversized and then trim them. It is very time consuming but not in a creative way. I would love to se if the papers made the final result more accurate without the boring trimming.

I have never used triangle papers and would really like to try them out. I started this journey to learn new techniques and to push myself. Learning to use new products and new ways of doing things is what really interests me. Winning would just be the best thing ever!

  5. Bonnie Ellison says:

I love triangles because they are the basis of so many blocks! Some of my favorites are star blocks and I love a pieced border with triangles. I need to try these triangle papers to get help with accuracy.

  6. Katie Kennedy says:

I’d love to give these papers a whirl. I like the Thangles and triangles on a roll. I know these would be perfect for lots of little half square triangles using charm squares.

  7. Jeanette Neibling says:

Triangle papers are awesome! I’ve used them for bigger sizes but never for HSTs this small. Since I have vision problems, these would be very helpful.

  8. Rhonda says:

Would love to try triangle papers! Everything I’ve heard about them is awesome. Anything I can use to make HST more accurate is a good idea and clearly a great tool to have as a quilter.

  9. Lynda P. says:

I love HSTs, and I will be making lots of them this year while sewing along with all the other Block Heads. I need Triangle papers to be ready for the blocks that Lisa designs. Thank you Modalissa and all of the Moda designers for making Moda Block Heads 3 an awesome sew along!

  10. Angela says:

I am the most impatient most distracted quilter ever! The thought of having to cut and sew that many triangles is kind of turning me away from doing this block…maybe the triangle papers would help‍♀️

  11. Heather says:

I need these for several reasons. When I saw these this morning I had that aha moment… and why didn’t I think of that. Some times Im too critical of my mistakes as a quilter. Its easy to forget to be inspired by new ideas and ways to create classic design.

      Heather,
I agree completely. I am also too critical but find that I enjoy the process much more allowing some wiggle room and don’t be afraid to tackle some new stuff.

  12. Carolyn Kibbe says:

I have not used the paper but I am very fond of half-square triangles. I would appreciate any tool that makes the job more accurate and quicker.

  13. ANGELA BOOTH says:

After Doing the block I realised how important certain ‘tools’ are and these are one of them…I done a 12″ as I”m very new but learning every week and looking forward to your block, thank you for being part of it

    love Angie (UK)

  14. JennyM says:

I used triangle papers for the first time last month. I was so happy with how that experience went! I will keep these papers in mind for future projects.

  15. Jennifer says:

I love anything that gives me better accuracy and shaves off some time. I am a busy mom of 2 boys (almost 5 and almost 12) and don’t get as much time as I’d like to sew and quilt. These look fantastic and I would love to try them. I know some of my quilting mentors have used them and love them!

  16. Shelly says:

Your block is so cute! I am having so much fun with the Blockheads 3. I have never tried the triangle paper but would love to try it! I am sure it will help my triangles be more “square” on. Haha. Thank you for the giveaway offer!

  17. mary says:

Fairly new quilter, have made a few I Spy baby quilts and have some blocks on the go.
Haven’t used papers yet, but am learning all sorts of ways to make hst (2, 4 and 8 at a time). So far, 2 at a time are my favorite as they are the most consistent and least squaring up for me, but always looking for other ways.

  18. Toby Thompson says:

Love your tape measure collection treasures pictured above! I’ve not tried triangle papers yet, but I can see how useful they must be especially for smaller HSTs!

  19. Rosemary B says:

I have never tried triangle papers
I have a lot of scraps that would really make some fantastic HSTs
and I could show my grand daughter and learn together
Thank you for this give away
I am going to go and look at the others pages and blogs now

  20. Alice Crandall says:

Thank you Lissa for the Primitive Gatherings triangle paper packages received today. Thank you for the contest and they will be a great help with HST’s. ❤️
